(K7In the Ohio Penitentiary,. Deo. 1, 1840, there were 488 convicts. Of these, 115 or nearlj one quarter, were intoxica1 ted when they committed the crimes for which they were incarcerated. We commend this fact to the attention of those membersof the township Boards in ourown State, who licence for the public good. OA cali has been issued for a Convention at Winthrop, Maine, to nomínate "such cundidates for offices within the gift of the people, as consistency requires abolitionists to favor with their votes." The election talies place in September. One townfurnishes 58 names.
