OD the voto rescinding the gag rule with some attenlion. Only two whigs from the free states degraded thcmselves by voting for the continuance of the infamous rule : Q$-Aïr. PROFFIT.435 of Indiano, and 03-SAMPSON MASON} of Ohio. Let thcir iníatny be perpetuated tilJ Ihey repcut. All New Eugland opposed the rule, except the 5 riemocratï from N. H. ar:d 1 from Maine. N. Y. opposed it except 5 demociats. From the siave Siates, Stewart and BottsofVa. Randall ofMd. and Underwood of Ky. voted against it. Six States opposed t unanimously. Vt. Ct. 11. 1. Mass. N. J. Mich. Eight supported it unanimously: Del. N. C. Geo. Ala. La.Mo. Tenn. Th rea etatcs not representcd: Miss. Ark. and Illinois.
