rursuani 10 nouce me irienas 01 juioerty from the severa! counties comprising the 2d Senatorial District, met at the Court House, in Adrián, on Tuesday, the 12th day of October instant. On motion of H. Tripp of Franklin,Nathan Siephens, of Hillsdale, was called to ihe chair, and W. Harwood appointed secretary. On motion, a committec of five, consisting of J. Carpenter, J. S. Dixon, and L. P.rkins of Lenawee county, and N. Stenen?, and David C. Fuller, of Hiilsu'ale, wcre chosen to present the names of candiduies for nomination to the convention. VVhereupun, the following gentlemen were duly presented tis candidates and unanimously nominuted by the convention: For the office of Senator, Rufus B. BeMENTof Litclrfield, Hiilsdaie county; and Paul Tabou sf Lenawee. On motion, of S. B. Treadwell, voted ihat a senatorial district committee, consisting of five persons, thrce in Lenawee, onein llilisdale, and Monroe, he appointed totransact all business of mportance, relative to ihe interests of the liberty cause in the district. Whereupon, J. Carpenter, W. Harwood, and Paul Tabor, of Adrián; and Ethel Judd of If illsdale, were chosen said commtltee. On motion, of J. S. Dixon, it was Resolved, That every eífort be made by the circulation of documents, addresses, &c. &c. to arouse the attention of the abolitionists to the subject and to vote the liberty ticket. On motion of J. Carpenter, voted that the proceedings of this conveniion be sign ed by the chairman, and secretary, and published in the Whig, VVatch Tower and Signal of Liberty. On motion, the Convention adjourned sine die.
