A few days ago, passed through luis town, the Hon. General Gates and laóy.on iheir ;vay to take possession of their néw and elegant seat on the bank of the East riyer. The general, previous to lenviug Virginia, summoned his numerou3 family and slaves about him, and amidst their tears ofaflection and gratitude, gave them their freedom; and what ia stili better: made provisión that iheir liberty should be a Weöaing to them.
