MES3RS. Emtors:- In tho last "State Journal" there s an article beaded "Ann Arbor Post Office," in which the editor ays "the change of location wil! accommodate both villages admirably," and "pro luces universal saüsfaclion." Now the editor of the Journal must have been under the influente of supreme selfishnos3 or he never could have penned such n sentiment. We are unwilling to impute to him wilful falsehood. I5ut it does appear to us that the slihfest acquaintnnce wilh the feelings and wishes of the inhabitants east of the rail road, wilh reference to the location of the post office, must have saved himfrorn a wretched miatake. Lel the editor of ihe Journal visit Liwer Town and make himself acquainted with our wishes and he will find that not one in ten ure stupid enough to laraely surrender their right9. A general knowledge pf the fucts must convince all disinterested persons that threejiftlis of all who receive their mail at the Ann Arbor office would bo better accommodated to have the office located at the depot, and thus save to the peoplo a large item of expense in transporting the mail to and from the cars.Had the people been consulted the ofice vvould have been located at the depot, vhic.h is by far the mosl central spot. We hope the editor of the Journal will ïot render thanks to the "eaterprising and iccommodating Post Master," tbr the peole east of the Rail Road unti) they invite im so to do, which will not be at present, or they have nothing for which to thank im. They have not, knowingiy, relinuished any of their rights. There has een duplicity practiced upon them and othing but stern necessity will make them ubmit to it for any considerable length of ime. At,any rate they have no thanks o bestow for the removal of the Post Ofice to its ncw location. Many, who peitioned for the present "enterprising and accommodating Post Master,'1 did t with n erfect understanding that if he was apointed the people should be consulted and he office located to the satisfaction of the mniority. This was not done.
