Agreeable to adj.iurnmenl, the citizcns of Ann Arbor met at the court house, on Thursday, June 2, at 1 oclock, P. M. The meeting was called to order by the President, and the proeeedings of the last meeting were read. The following resolution was introduced by Doet. D' nton. Resolved, That this meeting recommend the consolidation of the four school districts, embracing the area of number 11, 12, 13, 14, into one. On motion of Mark Howard, Esq, the follow was introduced as a subslitute. Resolved that in the opinión of this meeting, that porlion of the township of Ann Arbor, now cocmrieing school districts No. 11, 12, 13, 14, ought to be formed into 2 districts, and that the dividing line of said territory be Hu ron street in the village of Ann Arbor, which did not prevail. The vote was then taken upon the origina! resolution and it passed nnanimously. M. Howard, Esq., ihen offered the following. Resolved, That we have full confidence in the good sense and liberality of the taxable inlmbitants of eaid district, to provide the means necessary to the establishment and permanent support of a school commensurate with its wants and necessities. The word toxabie being objected to, the mover consentid lo have it stricken out. The !ense of the meeting was then taken and the resolution was lost. Mr. Howard then introduced the following resolution. Resolved, That this meeting earnestly reccominend to the schuol inspectors of this town to tuke immedintely the necessary steps toward the (brmation and organization of sair district. Passed unanimously. The Secretary oftered tlie following resolution. Resolved, Thaf this meeting look upon that clause of the Statute of this State which prohibits the right of sufFrage on account of povcrly as Anti-Democratic,and ihat our efforts stJall be unceasing until the same i& re - pealed. Resolved, That the proeeedings of this meeting be pubhshed in the three village papers, On motion, the meeting adjourned.
