The minority subsequently met, and formed another State Society, auxiliary to the American A. S. Soci ety. The treasurer's report showed the t otal reccipts of theyear to be $6,079, and total expenditures $6.703. Of the reccipts, $1.971 weredonations. The receipts from the subscribere to the Philanthropi"8t during the past year, have fallen short oí the expenses nearly $2.500. An arrangement was made, by the Socieiy, with Wm. The Liberty C -nvention met immeJiately after the adjournment of the Society. Capt. J. DufTey. Editor of the Columbus Freernan, which has pulled down the Clay flag, and advocates the election of King lor Governor, was introduced to the convention. The Philnnthropist says the Convention ms the largest ever beid in ihe State, more than 5(. 0 ddegatcs heing present from about 40 counties. The aurlicnce was very large, being sonie twelve or fifteen hun.-ired. Nineteen Iwenliethsof those present, excepling those who are conscieniiously opposed to voting. are in íávor of the Liberty paity movement. $425 cash were collected, and $1.000 pledged.
