The Convention met August 31, pursuant to public notice, and was organized by appointing D. F. Lansing, Chairman, and T. Foster Secrctary. Prayer was offered by Ilev. G. Beckley. The iollowing gentlemen were appointed a committee to present the namos of snitable candidates to the convention: Messrs. Konny, Doremus, Sherman. Beckley. Collins, Lapham, Davis, Branch, Smith, and Bancroft. The committee reported the names of ihe following gentlemen for the offices set to thoir respective names: For Representaties, ALVAII Pit ATT, of Vitsficld, Thomas g. da vis, of Syican, DANIEL POMEROY, of Salem, STEPHEN BENNETT, of Augusta, DARIÜS S. WOOD, of Loii, SAMUEL B. NOBLE, of Aun Arbor. For Sheriff, JUSTUS NORRIS, of Ypsilaiili. For Counly Ölerk, JAMES GIBSON, of Ann Arbor. For Register of JDceds, CONVERSE J. GARLAND, Ann Arbor. For CiMnty Treasurcr, SAMUEL D. M'DOWELL, of Piitsjicld. For Coroners, W1LLIAM ALLEN, of Ann Arbor, SQUIRE W. PATCHEN, of Ypsiland. For Surccyor, SAMUEL W. FOSTER, of Sciff. The Convention then resolved itself into a Senatorial Convention, nnd the delegates frbm -livingston having taken their seats, the following nomination was made for Senators: MUNNIS KENNY. of Wc'sicr, FRANGÍS M. LANSING, ofLodi. The Convention was closed with prayer by Mr. Kenny, and adjourned. sine die.
