Messrs. Edito s: - h is almost impossible to ind a man, even in the most secluded retreats of ur State, but what is bold to assen "i am oppised to s!avery." Very well, say I to them. yuu are the man for me. I suppose you wil! lay ïold and help me remove this terrible evil from trom our country. "Why. yes, if 1 am only knew what to do." Well, l'll teil you one tfting we can do. You nnd I won't vote formen that will eiiher defend or covnitc.M the system, butfor men thnt are ready to exert themselves in every lawful direction to pull it down. Sohcre my friend is where we can do. After a few shrugs of the shoulder l:e ati6wers: "But - but I am opposed to carrying the thing into politica- hem - this uniting church ancí stale and carrying religión into our Icgislative halls - and trying to fix tbings so that part of our public men wtll be niggers. and n multitude of such results as you and I can't dremn of now, I teil you. &c &c." "I have not taught ihat to the children." "Well, I am tleci'lêJly oppotcd to these moral reforms societies, and you must go out ot the schoolhouse" t;Sir, I have never taught the tin principies of thut society - I have taught simple text of the Eriglish New Testament. "Well. well - but - b ut I ani opposed - [ am opposed to - to- don't knoio ichat!" Just so it is with ten thousand who are opposed to "political abolitionism." They are opposed to, they "don't hnow uAat." Let such as are emphatically "fit psopU" understand your principies and they are
