OMessrs. Jackson and Chnplm, are notv lecturing on elavery in New York. At Dë Ruy ter they had a scarcity of hearers at the places appointed, and concluded if the peöple woüld not come to them, they must go to the people. So they turned over a dry-goods box in the most public place in the village, and One monnted the box and read the song, "1 am an abolitionist," while the other comraenced sihging it. In a short time the village was all agog to know what was going on, and they were surroundsd by a crowd of politician?, lawyers, mechanics, and working men in their shirt sleeves, anxious to know what all Llns meant. When they Werethrough with sino-ihg, they went to work in earnest to gratify the curiosity of the people, and took turns in indoctrinating them wilh the principies of abolition. At Homer they adopted the same with equal success.
