Threshing Machines. nnHE undersigned would inform ihe public that _g_ they continue to menufacturo Horsk Powkiis nnd ïiiKKSHtNG Machines, two nnd a half milc8 from the viüage of Ann Arbor. on the railrood. The Horse Power is a late inven tion by S. W. Foster, and ie decidedly superior to any other ever ofiered to the public, as will appear by the statements of those who have userl thcm during ! the last year. It is light in wcight and small in compass, being carried together with the Thresher, in a comnion waggon box, and drawn witb ease by two horses. Jt is as little liablc to break, or get out of repair, as any other Horse Power, and will work as easy and thrash as much wjtli ■ fuur horses a ttachcd to itasany other power wiih ; fivz horses, as will appear froin the recommendations below. New patterns hnve been made for the cast Iron, anü additional weight and strength applied wherever it had appeared to be necessary i from one year's use of the machine. The subscribers deern it proper to stntc, that a number of horss powers were sold last year in the village of Ann Arbor which were beljeved by the purchasers to be those invcnted by S. W. ter. and that most or all of ihem were either made materially different, or altered bef'ore sold, so as to be materially different fvom those made and sold by the subscribers. Such alterations being decidedly detnmenta to the utility of the machine. Thcy have good reason to believe that cvcry one of those returned by the purchasers as unsatisfactorj were of this class. They are not aware that any Power that went from their shop, and was put in use, as they made it. has been condemned or laid asideas a bad machine. All who wish ti buy are invited to examine them and to enquire of those who have used them. - There will be one tbr examination at N. H.Wing's, Dcxter villagc; and one at Martin Willson's stoickousc in Detroit - both these gentlemen being ayents for the sale of them. The price will be $120 for r four horse power, with n threshing machine, with a stave or wooden bar cylinder; and 130 fora liorse power wilh a threshing machine with an iron bar cylinder. The attention of the reader is invited to tliefollowinff recommendations. S. W. FOSTER & CO. Scio. April 20, 1842. RECOMMENDA TIONS. This is to certify that W3 have used ono ofS. V. Foster's newly invented Horse Powers for about five months, nnd threshed with it about 3000 bushels, and believe it is constructed on better principies than any other Horse Power. - One of the undersigned has owned and usedeight different kinds of Horse Powers.and we believe that fdw horses will thrash as rnuch with this Power as fivc will with any other power with which we are acciuainted.H.
