We have received a communication froin D. B. Dolbeare, Rnisin, Lenawee county, resptoling a school for colorcd refugees at Amherstburg, Canndi. On account of f9 length, wc must be cxcused from publishtngr ir. A statejment of the material fncts ma y nnswer every purpose. Th is school is taught by Rev. Mr. Rice of the Presbyterian order. It has from 30 to 40 scholars, from fonr to thirty years of nge, chiefiy of the families who have fied from bondatre. Thcy arrive thcre almost naked, and are often reduceü to the greatest destitution. Very few of thetn cnn read, and many are mieerably degraded. Mr. Rice has been a teacher at or near Amhörsiburg for three or four years, and has received only a trifle as a compensution. He has been successful as a teacher, and his school is favorably mentioned by Rev. Hiram Wilson. The teacher and scholars need books, cloth:ntr, and indeed nearly all the comforts of life. There are about one hundred families of colored persons at and near Amherstbnrg. Donations of books and clothing of any kind sent to J. J. Rice, Amhersthurp, care of Gillet and Desnoyers, Detroit, will be faithfully applied. Chargres should be paid, as Mr. R. isordinnrily dest ilute of tlie means of paying them.
