Papers from all parts.of the frec States contain accounts of slaves caeos. They are of frequent recurrence; and they wil! bc more frequent still, unless tho tyrants ceasc to pursue their vicfiias. Northern sentiment ia fast taking eidea with the fiigitive. Tho Jegal questions respecting fugitives will soon be tested and established for a certainty. The following account of u recent case in Newark, Ohio, i from the Detroit Advertiser: A Nero Slave, belonging to John Ciarles, of Kentucky, escaped into Ohio, und had been living at Newark for about fonr months as a ho'stlcr. He was then arrested, and commitled to jail to await an investigation into the claim set u'p to him as a Slave. A writ of habeus corpus was then tiiken oot, on wbich after n hearing on both sides, he wna dis! charged. A scuíHe ensued to gët ho!d of him in wnich bis Abolitionist friends brnised oach other's faces, mlstaking one anothèr for ahve liunters. f Ie was hovvever, finally cirnrrged tfaxough the crowd tö the door, and thero mounied on a fleet horse in rendiness, and went on his way n'jv)ic.ing, amid iriumphant Fbouts. He is doubtless long since sufe under t!ie peotecti njr wings of Queen Victoria. 'J'he Kewark Gazette mkes the fpüowiogf commentary on tho decisión of the Ohio: Judge:"It is not for us to mnke any remarke on the ubject, we hr.ve pi ven the facts as they ocurroii to our öbservation, nnd our regiere vvill able to judge for theraselves of the reaulï f tlie wliole matter. If the decisión of the Jourt wiil be stistained, any Slave-hoider vhöj hereaftBr, discovers hi? property in ttus tute, need apply to no authorities to reclr.ini, )iit tó tuke urn by force Krom tlie Slate, and t wül be bat a continual turmoil between the nti and Slave-holfliüg mon, relalifition upon 3iu.nce. and a Slave-bolder would j ast stand is (air a chance in a strong Anti-SJayery cotnnmniïy, as a'ri Abolition lecturcr would in the' South. Whilo if tlie deciejon Ue not suslained) takitig Slaves out of the States in such a nannsr, would bc máde a speciss of kidnap)ing. We hope a filial decisión naay bc had ipon the subject, for until that is done, our tute will be continually molested by the dif-' 'erent and obstinate views of opposing opinïons." '
