The Horse Power is a late mveniion by S. W. Foster. nnd is decidedly superior to any other ever olfered to the public, as will appear by the statements oi tiiose vvho have used theni the Inst yenr. h is iight in weight md sninli in compass, being carried togetlier witli iho Tlircshor, in a cotnnion waggon box. and drawn with oase by two horses. It is ashttle Hable to break, or get out ot repair, as any other Horse Power, and will work as easy nnd thrash as nmcb wjth four horses attnehed to it as any other power with ƒ tic horses, as will appear from the recommendutions below. ííew patterns have been made for the cast Tron. and additional weight and strengthapplied wherever it had appeared to be necessary from ono year's use of' the machine. The subscribers deern it proper to state, j that n numberof horse powers were sold last j year in the villagc of Ann Arbor which were believed by thepurchasers to be thoseinventcd by S. W. Foster. nnd that most or all ol them ' were either made materi.illy difïerent. or ' tcred betore sold, so as to be matcrially different from thosc made and sold by the subscribers. Such alterations being decidedly detnmenta' tothe milityof the machine. They have good reason to believe that cvery one of those returner] by the purchasers as unsatisfac tory were of this class. They are not aware I that any Power thnt went from their shop, and j was put in uso. as they made it, has been condemned or laid nsideas a bad machine. All who wish t.ibuynre invited to examine them and to en q ui re of those who have used them. There will bo onctbr examination nt N. II. The attention of the reader is invited to tlie folio wing rccommendations. S. W. FOSTER & CO. Scio. April 20. 1842. RECOmiEXDATfONS. This is to certity ihnt we havo used one of S W. Foster's newïy invented Horse Powers foj about five months, nnd threshed with it about 8000 bushels, and believe it is constructed on Letter principies thnn any other Horse Power. One of the undersigned has , ownedand nsedeight different kinds of Horse Powers, and we believe that four horses will thrash as nuich with this Power as fivc will with any other power with which we areacquainted. H. CASE. S. G. [VES.Scio, January. 12. 1P42. Tais is to infonn the public that I have purchased, nnd have now in use, one of ihe Horse Povvers recently invented by S W. Foster. made by S. VV. This is to infonn the pnblic tliat I have ' chased one of the Horse Powers, recently j vented by S. W. Foster. and ussd it for a I er of months. and believe it is the best power in use. working with less strengih of horses than any other power with which I am acquainted, and being small in compass. is asily moved from one place to another. I believe 4 horses will thresh as much with this power as 5 will with anv other power. - The plan and the working of this power have been universally approvod of by fcrmers for whom I have thrashed.
