On Tuesday even'ug, June 27th, 1S43, a large meeting1 of colorrd citizens assembled in the basement of the Baptist Church, Robj ert Allen was appoinfed Chairman, and Perry Hoit, Secretary. The Secreta ry read a circular ssued by the Central Corres ponding Commiüee of the Siate of New York, calling a National Convenüon of colored citizens to assemble in Buffulo on the third Tuesday in August, 1343. On motion of R. Gordon, a committee was appointed to draft Resolutions expressive of the concurrence of this meeting and the colured intiabitants of this city. The committee introduced the Resolutions ivhich were unanimously adopted. Resolved, That we are exceedingly gratified, and thankful to God, that our Brethren are being roused up, and the spirit, energy, and enierprise, they are manifesting throughout the country in the cause of Liberiy, Eilucation and Moráis.Resolved, That all history shows, ond our experience proves, that the Rights and Liberlies of a people must be obtained by their own exertions, and it is high Urne we put our own shoiilders to the wheel. Resolved, We most checrfully conenr in the cali of our Eastern Brethren for a National Convention to ossemblein the City of Buffalo in August next. Resolved, That we appoint our D legates to represent us i said convention. Resolved, We elect our Delegates by Ballot. Wheretipon William C. Munro, Robert Banks, Richard Gordon, aud William Lambert were duly elected. Resolved, That the proceedinps of this meeting be pnblished in the Signal of Liberty Ann Arbor, North Star, Albany, and Unitet States' Clarion, Troy.
