THE undersigned would inform ihe public that they continue to manufacture House PowKKSand Threshisg Machines, two nnd a linlt mil es frotó the viltnge of Ann Arbor. on the rail-rond. The Horse Power is a late invención by S. W. Foster, and is deculedly superior to any other ever orlered to the public, as will appear by the statemenis ot thoee i who have uscd iheni during the last yeur. h ! is light in weight and smallin compase, being carritid together with the Thvesher, in n common waggon box. and drawn with ease by two horses. Jt is as lutic liable to break, or get out ot repair, as any otlier Ilorse Power, and will work ns easy and thrash as ïiiUcli with four horscs attached to it as any other power with fivc horses, as will appear from the recommendations below. New patterns have been made for the cast Tron. anil additional weight and sirengthapplied wherever it had appeared to be necessary f rom one year's use of the machine. The subscribers deern it proper to state, that a numberof horse powers were sold lnst year in the village of Ann Arbor which wcre believed by the purchasers to be those invented by S. W. Foster. and that mest or all of them were oither made materially different, or alterod belbre sold, so ns to be mnterially different from those made and sold by the subj scribers. Such alterations being decicïedly detrimenta" to the utility of the machine. They have good reason to believe that every one of those returned by ihe purchnsers as unsatisfac tory were of this class. They are not awore that any Power that went from their shop, and was put in use, ns they made it, has been condemned or laid asideas a bad machine. Ailwhowish tobuyare invited to examine them and to enquire of those who have used them. There will beonc tbr examination at N. H. Wing's, Dexter village; and one at Martin Willson's stoiehousc in Detroit - both these gentlemen being agents for the sale of them. The price will be $120 fora four horse power, with a thieshing machine, with a stave or wooden bar cylinder; and $130 for a horse power with a threshing machine with an iron bar cylinder. The atteniion of the reader is invited to the following recommendations. S. W. FOSTER & CO. Scio. April 20. 1542. RECOMIENDA Tí ONS. One of the undersigned lias j ownedand used eight different kinds of Horse Powers, and we believe that four horses will thrash as much with this Power as Jire. will with any other power with which we areacquainted.
