The Liberty Party of Oakland and the northern Counties, compristng the Sixth Senatorial District, met at the Court House, in Pontiac, on Wednesday, the 19th July, to nomínate two Senators to represent the District in the State Senate. The convention was called to order by sppointing J. W. King, Esq. Chairman, and J. A. Peck, Secretarj'. Resolved, That the meeting proceed to informal balloting for nominees, and John C. Gallup and Uri Adams, were unanimously chosen as candidates. On motion, Jas. G. Birney, J. W. King, and Erastus Ingersoll were clioscn to draft nn appeal to the Electora of the Senatoiial District. Resolved, That a requisito numberbe nppointed to lecture and distribute in each of the different townships comprising the county. Upon which Nathan Powers, of Farmington, was assigned Farmingtorij West Bloomfield, and Southfield. Joseph Morrison, of Pontiac, Orion, Oakland, Brandon, and Independenco. Uri Adams, of Avon, Addison and Oxford. J. A. Peck, of Pontiac, Waterford and White Lake. E. Ingersoll, of Farmington, Novi nnd Lyons. 'E. Fish, of Bloomfield, Troy, Royal Oak, and Bloomfield. R. Wells, of Springfield, Springfield, Groveland and Holly. S. Newell, of Rose, Rose. D. C. Foster, Commerce Village. Daniel Dunham, Highland. A. Ames, Milford. W. G. Page, Pontiac. J. A. Peck, Joseph Morrison, and W. G. Page, were appointed a county corresponding committee for the ensuing year. Resolved, That the proceedings of this convention be published in the Signal of Liberty. The convention adjourned sinc die after prayer by the Rev. Mr. Fairchild.
