The friends of Liberty of ilie Counties of Monroe, Lenawee and Uillsdalc, are respect fully ti.iwioj i.. meet n Senatorial Convoniion, at Adrián, in the couniy of Lenawee, on Saturday, the rct nik dat of O tiber ncxU at one o'cluck, P. M., for the purpose of nominating two Senators to represent the Second Senatorial District in ilie ensuing Legislature; one of which is to be selected from Monroe. and the other from Lenawee county. At the same place, honr and day, the friends of Lenawee County are requested to assemblr to make nominations of merubers for the House of Representa! i ves to represent ihe freemen of tho County of Lenawee, in the Legislative Hall of Michigan, at the iifxt Legislaiure, and to transact 8uch business as shall be brought before the ention. For somc reason unknowr to uf. :he friends in Lenawee Couniy did not turn out to the Convention which was to be held at Adrián the 9.h n8t. It was probably owing somewhat to the bhortness of the notice. and the busy season of the ycar; it being abont the time the farmer were beginning to sow their wheat. We cannot account for their non-attendance in any othcr way from the fyt that when we have had Couniy Conventions, and other meetings heretofore, almost every town has been represented in the county. So few of us met the 9th inst. tha we concluded to put the matter over until we had our Senatorial Convention, which was to be held at ihs same place of our County Convention,. nnd do the business all in one day. It is therefore thought fit bv the County and Senatorial Committees to hold boüi Conventions at tho time mentioned in the notice. In compliance with the snggestion of our friend in Hillsdale County. we have concluded to have a general tnass meeting nnder the title of Senatorial and County meeting, and to procure speakers, if possibl, who will address the meeting. Therefore, as the meeting is of a general character all and every individual in the second senatorial district are most cordial'y and respectfully solicited to attend. It is liopcd that no one who has the interest of the slave at heart will even try to make any unneeessary excuse to stay at home. Who of our prominent friends will take upon thomsèlves tli3 rcspon6ibility to rally the friende in their respective Toicns and District-Will not Mesérs. Willy, Cnrpcntcr, Allen, Trcadwell, Crane, Trïpp, Holl, Newell, and Mullckin, of Lenawee County. and Mr. S. Jackson of Hillsdale, and thosc in Monroe County and in fine all who feel that interest they should feel in the common cause oí human righis make an unparallelcd cffort lo get up an efficiënt meeting? We look toyouforyour iffortsand your influence. The fnct is the time has already arr:ved for us in this section to bc more active in the cause of the oppressod. We look around us in other Bcctions of our Península, and we seo the friends are all up and doing, determincd, at all hazards, to come ofTvictorious at no very distant period. Nothing is more cheering and encouraging to liberty men than meeting often. If this be true, friends, let us all meet the setentk ot next month, and rest assurcd we shall have a revi ving Beason.
