Livingston County Convention
rursúant to previons notice, the fnends of Southern bondmen, and northern freemeh, m the county of Livingston, assembled ot Howell. September 2C, 1843, for the ptirpöse of nominating iwo candidates, to represent said county in the next Leg-islature. Whereupon, E. F. Gay wns caüed to the chair, and C. Carter appoimed Secretary. After some remarks by the Chairman ond others, (he Convention resolved, to proceed to an informal balloting for said candidates, vvhich resulted in the election of Asahèl rJuBBAiiD of Green Oak, and Lkö.nard Noble, of Putnam. AccördingIy, by acclamation, hey were dèclnred to be the Candidates. Resolved, Tliat E. F. G.iy and Nelson Caffey of Marión, and Justin Durfee aud John X. Neely of Howell be a con nty correspondngf cotnmittee. On mot ion, adjourned sine diJ.
