More than thirty months have passcd away since the publicaron of this paper was cotnmenced. At the close of the first volume, the earnest solicitation of our patrons induced us to enlarge and improve our sheet. In order to keep pnce with the tnnes, and meet the demands of our growing enterprise, it became necessary in our judgment, and in the opinión of our friends that the Signal should be enJarged. In compliance with our convictions of propriety - encouraged and urged on by our friends, we have attended to this work, as all wiJl perceive whose eye meets our paper ofthia week. The arrangement is a permanent one, and cannot fail to meet the approbation of all who are interested in the preent snccess orultimate triumph of our righteous cause.Having thrown our sail to the breeze, and embarked in the heaven-born enterprize of freeing our country from slavery, and the slave pmver, we expect to pursue the eyen lenor of our way, until "Liberty shall be proclaimed throcghout all the land to all the inlabitants thoreof." In addition to our rsual AntLslavery ïnntter, we purpose to give eoch week a large amount of general inlelligence, of foreign and domestic news, ever intending to keep our reodora advised of all that is passing in the moral and politica] world, which we conceive to be of interest. In short no pains wil] be spared to make h e Signal an ititeresling fatnily newspaper, ono that ehnlJ be in every way calculalrd to pJease the lovers of Liberty and equal rights, and in no eense injnrious to the highest state of moráis. And now, respected friends, in token of your pprobation of our courae, (tPay up your subscriptione,. and send us at least one new eubscriber with the cash in advance. By so doing, you will benefit your neighbor, do your6elf honor - essentially relieve us in our embarrassed condición, and render the cause of the elave an important service.
