The readers of the Signal of Liberty will reccollect, that at the late meeting of the N. Y. State Liberty Convention at Canastota, it was resolved that a monument to the memory of Myron Holly, the originator of the Liberty Party, and a noble minded and excellent man, be erected under the direction of Gerrit Smith Esq., at an expense of not more than two hundred dollars; and that each Liberty man in the United States be requested to contribute one cent towards its erection. Having received a commission to act as treasurer for the State of Michigan, I hereby request the following gentlemen to act as collectors in their several counties, and forward what funds may come into their hands to me by the first day of May next. It can be done best by town collections. The Monument is in progress and will be completed next summer. T. FOSTER. County. Name. Post Office. Branch J. N.
