Poetry: Oh Why Fear Death?
Oh why fear death? pray, doth Ãhe eod, Conceal man frora the eye of God; From Mercy'i smile or Vengeance'u rod? No, even there, Ãs felt his frown, hio awful nod, His watchful care. Oh why fear death? the fatal dart, Can bear but gladness to the hearf, That does not fear with life to part, And all its ill, And joyfnl thuB to 'ecnpe its smart, Rejoices stil!. Oh why fear death? a land more bright, Enpeopled by the sons of light, Wil] burst upon the raptured 6ght; The pangs once orer, That sever from this worid of might; That happy shore, - Oh why fear death? life's troubles o'er, Ãn calm repose disturbed no more, By all the woes that pained before: The body'll rest; Til! called at laet away to eoar, Among the bleet.
