Pursuant to "previeras notice, the Ann Arbor Mechantes Temper anee Institution held their first meeting at Mr. Taylor's room in the Huron Block on the evening of the 17th inst., A. Delamater was cal led to the chair, and John B. Woodruflj chosen Secretary pro tem. The object of the meeting was briefly stated by Mr. Delamater and Philip Beasimer, after which many honest conpessions were made and resolutions passed to join the pledge and hereafter hecomQ f aithfid co-operators in the cause of Tempcrance. The pledge being circulated, twentytwo names were obtained. The meeting then adjourned, to meet again on Tues3ay, the 23d instant at 7 o'clock, P. M. it the same place. A general attendance of the Mechanics and laboring men of said village and ricinity is earnestly solicited at their next meeting - at which time the officers will De made for the ensuing year and a conititution ailopted.
