The great change whïch has come1 over the spirit of the Slaveholders, was, brought to view in a late speech of A. Brown, of Tenn. on the Right of Petition. Instead of commanding and bullying, they now resort to beggi'ng and entreating. We commend the following to those who are forever telling howtho anti-slavery effórts have tightened the chains of the slave. Mr. Brown has beca a prominent member of the House for several years, and nis testimony on this. point ought to be of as much value as the unsupported assertions of northern men.
