A Coun.y Convention was recenty held in Bureau County, at which it was resolved to give the vote of that county for Birney at the ensuing presidential election - also to raise two hundred dollars for the anti-slavery cause, to be expended for tracts, &c, and to supply every voter in the county each month. Fifty copies of "Jay's View" were ordered for the beneñt of the county. One hundred and fifty dollars were pledged on the spot for these purposes. Weekly reading meetings were appointed for each neighborhood. A Central Committee was appointed to carry into effect these resolutions, consisting of Owen Lovejoy,Timothy Edwards, Austin Bryant, Thomas Mercer, and E. H. Phelps. The convention adjourned to meet at Dover on the second Tuesday of April.
