Phe pin manufactory, nearDerby, Conn., has a contrivance for stickinj! ping in pnpprs--, which is quite murvellous. V, takes in Englnnd, 60 Témales to stick in one day, by sunülit, 90 pacU, consisting of 302,460 pin? - the siirne thing is performed here in the same time by one womun. Her sole occupation id to pour them, a gallon ata time, jnto a hopper, from wlience they come oui, nJLneatly arranged tipon their several papers! The mechanisrn, by which the labor of 59 persons is dailysaved, yet remains a myslery to all but the inventor; and no person but the tingle one who Bttende to it, is, upo any pretext whatever, alJowed to enter th room where it operate9. At Hartford, Conn., the experiment o covering the body with sliced onions, anc renewing them often till the fever sub sides, has been tried with great effect i cases of scarlet fever. The onions draw the tever to the surface, and imbibe it t some extent.
