í. American Slavery is a violation of the aws of God, an outrage on the rights of man, a curse to the master, to the Sla ve, to íhe ree colored man, and to the white laborer - t is the favored inslitution of our country, controle its legislation to a very large extenl - engrosses a d'spropoitionate sharé of the jublic offices- conduct8 our foreign negociaioná for the benefit of slaveholders to the letriment of other classes - causes our national legislation lo be flucluating and unstable - ramples on ihe rights of Non-slaveholders, aod laxes thom for its 6upport - is the cause of repeated violations of the Nationnl Constituí ion, and is a calamitv and a curse of the greatest magnitude to the wliole nation. 2. The abolition of Slaver}', and the disensation of equol and exact justice to all classes of men, by law, are objecís of sufRcient magnitude and importance to become he foundation of a political organization; and hese objects, in their naiure and consequences, very far transcend tboee which are )ow in controversy between the Wlng and Democratie parlies.3. There is but one certain and effectual mode by which SJaverj in the United States can be abolished, and tbat is by ihe legislaUve authorif.y of the severnl States and oflhe Vation; and this authonty will not be gener ally and efficiently exerted for the extinctio of slavery, until ite exercise shall be induced hrough the agency of a political anti-slavery orgamzation. 4. The formation of a politica 1 party for the wrpose of liberatinsf the sla ves of our nation, and securing equal jistice to all, is a plan unexceptionable in itself. inaccordance with re wblican institutions, the besi adapted to retnedy the evils of Slavery, fully competent for Uremoval without violaling a single Con-ïtitu tional provisión of any State or of the Union, and a plan tbat is plain, practicable, and feas ible, and which there Í6 every reason to beieve, will be eminently, speedily and permanently successfal. The preceding propositions appear to usto cover the whole ground necessarily in controversy between the Liberty party and its oplonenls, and we have put them into this shepe that both its friends and enemies may be able to 6ee them at once. All of them are capajle of most sntislactory demonstration. We nvite the attention of political opponents to their consideration. And as Mr. E. L. Fuler, of thie county, lias abounded in his charges upon the Liberty party, we specially nvite him to discuss with us in public, any one or all of these propositions.{Lƒ We have no Congressional department this week, because there are no doings of that body of any moment with which it may be filled. We will mention, however, that the House adjourned over from Thursday to Monday, to give members a chance to attend the races! - A final adjournment in June is anticipaed. .;
