A friend writes us Trom this couniy May 12 : "Our Convention on Safurday iast, tva worthy of the cause. About 70 delegates were in attendance, many of whom hac come more thnn 20 miles to a Convantion of freetnen. The greatesf harmöny and good feeling prevailed, and sfll seemed deeply impressed with the importancë o working like in derence of the rights of Americtfn' now enslaved by the tyrannical predominance of the 1, 200,000,000 slavè power. Jf every Liberty man in this county would put forth his best efforts from this time till the fail election, the fdes of Ño vember would teach the Southern Slave crats and Northern doughfaces. that they could no longer trample upon the rights of freemen with impunity. I sincerel) hope that theseveral towns wil] forthwitl organise fhörougWy for the fall campaign. Liberty Associafions should be formed in every School district, where praelicable, and should meet, at least, oncea fortnight. Let every member give such information as he possesses upon the subject, advise anddiscuss with his neighbors - read such anti-slavery articles as may be appropriate. Or several distrietsr might uniteand form an Association, and have-its meetings heldin the several districts ahernately. Those who have a gift for public speaking, will have frequent opportunities of meeting their L-iberty friends, and lecturing. on the most important principies and measures connected with our enterprise. By pursuing thiscourse, the spirit of freedom would be gaining ground rapidly in the afFections of the people."Another friend writes, June 13: "Ajout 70 delegates met at Jackson on Saturday last to nominale Liberty candidates to be suppo"ted at the November election. An excellent selection was made ; and ii we may judge from the number and character of the delegates, or Trom the spirit which they manifested, wemaysafely conclude that the Liberty voteofthiscounty wlll be greatly increasednext fall."ÖGIn another column we have inserted the greater part of a letter-from C. M. Clay to Edward Quincy, one of the promnent Garrison Abolitionists, and a bitter pponentofthe Liberty party. It wil] confirm the impression our readers have lready erabraced, that Cassius M. Glay is heartily laborrng with us in the common cause of Émancipation and Ecual Rjghts QJThe Ypsilanti Sentir.el contain he bajlotings for President on the cars, on the Central Railroad, on five different nys.
