A certain Whig oí Wayne Couniy, who considera himself respectable, and from whom beiter ihing8, might be expected, hnd occasion to visit ihe town of Leslie,in Ingham County, and on his nnurnsaid to us that etery ubolilionst in t'tut loica, hnd come out for Henry Cluy, and was detennined to vote for him ai thc ensuingelection; and so fnr as he could learn, all the Abohlionists in tlie western part of the State ntended to support Henry Cluy, and thus prevent üie Annexation of Texas. We have just had an interview with Dr. Meeker, of Le8lie, who says the story is enúrdij falsc. in all its pjrt8; that not a Liberty man m hc town.or within his knowledge, has teft the Liberty party, or exprcased ihe shghtest intention of doing so. We mentton this instance of falsehood and attempted decepiion, not because it ia of any greot moment in itself, but as a specimen of the base meonsby whicr. some of the more desperate and unprincipled of the Whig party deern it necessary to bolster up their doubiful cause. Let Liberty uien beware olthair falsehoods.
