North Carolina, - VJ1 the counTiei but three have been heard from, by whicl it appears that the Whig majority is 2.973. The remaining counties will leave tht Wh'ig majority at about 3,000. The Whig majocity in 1840 was 12,594. - The Democratie gain from last year is about 2,000. The Whigs have the Gov ernor, and enough of the Legislature for all practical purposes - 4 in the Senate, and 28 in the House. Kentucky. - We cannotgive any statistics from this Staie, but it has gone Whig by-a majority of some five or six housnnd. In 1840 the Whig majority vas 25,873. It is supposed the House vill stand about. - Whigs 80, Democrats 20. Illinois.- The Democrats claim a majority on joint ballot of about 70. The Western Citizen says: "The election has generally gone for the Democrats. The present members of Congress are all re-elected with tlie exception of Hardin, whose place is filled by E. D. Barker of Springfield, nnother Whig. The delègation in Congress in reference to parties, stands as before. In the State Legislature there is a large majority of Democrats eiected." In 1840, the majority for Van Buren was 1,939. Indiana. - The vote, as far as heard from, is about the same as last year. It is supposed the Senate will have aDemDcratic, and the House a Whig majority. Thé. Whig majority in 1Ö4Ü was 13.698. The Whigs ha-ve gained oa last year in 25 counties, 1.363. Missouri. - This State has gone Dem)cratic, of course. We have not any statement of the strength of parties before i is. In 1840, Missouri gave Van Buren i majority of 6,788. AlabaiMa. - This State'is also strongly l Democratie, and gave a majority of j ,520 in 1840. The Democrats, have :armed most of the State. Iowa. - The returns, as far as heard rom, give the pneponderance to the Demicrats.
