The New York Journal of Commerce bas ever been full of sneers upon the Liberty party, and upon the whole anlislavery enterprise, in all its branches. The Editors, however, kindly condescend occasionally to chronicle its Lillipuiian operations from time to time, for the information of its gigantic antagonists. lts last notice is as follows: "At the last presidential election, more than 2,400,000 votes were polled, and a still greater number will be polled next November. But we have no idea that 100,000 of them will Ie given to Birney; probably 25,000 will ie nearer the truth; and these being taken in about equal proportions from the two leading parties are of little or no consequence, one way or the other." How singular that such great men as Seward, Fillmore, and Giddings have not had sagacity enough to discover this! - Yet they have all taken the stump against this party "of little or no consequence;" and even the great Daniel Webster has publicly come out against the "third party." These veteran politicians had better go to school to the editors of the Journal of Commerce.
