These are now completedl In tFie íírst District, we havo C. H. Stewart, the nominee1 of the Liberty party: the Democrafs have re-nominated Robt. McClelland; and the Whigs have selected Edwin Lawrcnco. of this villnge. J. M. Howard was the cboicc of the Convention, but he declined. The vote in this District lastyear stood thusc McClelland, (Dem.) 7,862 . Howard, (Whig.) 5,495 Portcr, (Lib;) 829 In the Second District, the Liberty candidate is E. A. Allee: the Democratie, J. S. Chipman: the Whig, Henry W. Taylor, of Marshall. We have a favorable opinión of Mr. Taylor asa gentleman & a man of talents. He is the ablest and most candid opponent the Liberty partyi has mot in ibis State; and his published articlêsagainst the Libörty party present a striking' contrast to the late malignant and vindictive attacks of J. M. Howard upon Mr. Birney and his friends. But no sensible Liberty man will be tempted fo throw away his vote on Mr, Taylor, as the state of porties forbids any rational hope of his election, as a glance at the result of last year wijl show. It stood thus: Lyon, (Dm.) 7,171 W i 1 1 ia-ms. ( VV h ig. ) 5, 1 02 Bement (Lib.) 1,232 The Liberiy vote lilis year wilï largely increase.
