The agent for the establishment of this colony reports, "That pursuant to the authority invested in him by the committee who had charge of the matter," he proceeded to malee such further examination of the subject as hethought proper for the further purpose of promoting the object of the convention held at Massillon, A. D. 1841; and also to ascertain on what temos a suitable tract of land could be purchased: and as, in his judgment, a purchase was practical - in accordance with that authority, he entered into a contract for such purchase, and proceeded to make collections - appoint agsnts - and in all respects to do what seemed to him advisahle. The tract of land purchased on GrandRiver he was compelled.to abandon on account of hard times: he then made a new purchase containing one hundred and sixty acres, for which he gave his own obligations for the payment thereof. This tract of land is situated in Woodstock township, Lenawee county. in the State of Michigan, seventeen miles west of Adrián, and ten miles north of Hudson, which is on the rail road. - There have been expended two hundred and twelve dollars, and five hundred and forty isyet due, or will be in threeyears. The deed will then be made tocertain trustees, at the expiration of the time, or before, ifpaid. The omount subscribed for the work is two thousand, three hundred and eighfy dollars and sixty-nine cents. The following have beented: one thousand tmrty-five dollars and nine cents, of goods and money and books, &c. Expenses of the Agent up to the lOth of September, 18-14, are two hundredand ninety-five; dollars and thirty-five cents. The Institution buildings are now being erected, and the ngeLt is on the ground with several hands laboring, with carpenters and others. The above report was made out to be submitted to the trustees and committee according to a puhlished notice that he would report on the lOth of September at the Institution ground. P. FOSTER, Agent. RICHMOND HATHAWAY, of Michigan. Rev. ORIN DOOLITTLE, of Mich. DARIüS COMSTOCK, of Mich. This instifulion will go into operation on the tenth day of November. All classes of Students will be received, irrespectivo of color, and can páy their expenses by the proceeds of their labor. The following branches will be taught in the institution: Geography, Arithmetic, English Grammar, Rhetoric, Philosophy, History, Chemistry, Algebra, and the Latin Language. : Tuilioh - for the common branches, $2,50 per quarter: for the higher branches, -$4,00 per quarter.
