We invite atteníion to the article, to be ound on our first page, brieily adverting o the decisión of Judge Shaw, of Massahusetts, relating to the relalive rights of Ttiaster and slave- a decisión which cannot fail to give this eminent jurist a high osition in the eyes of all sincere lovers of Constitutional freedom throaghout the Jnion. This decisión cardes out judicially the great and salutary doctrine of State Rights to the letter - The institution of Slavery (if indeed it be an institution) s decided to be of an entirely domestic character - no State having a right to imjose it upon the citizens or subjects of another State - or to carry it practically nto their borders, in contravention of the fundamental laws and regulations of the f ree sovereignties; and we rejoice that here is one Judicial functionary to be found who will notsufferthe Constitution of an independent sovereignty to be rampled upon with impunity, even in he case of an unprotected and opnressed
