A most destruclive 6re occurred in the vil lage of Dexter on Sunday last about noon. - Tt broke out in Viiikle's cabinet shop, situated on thebrowof the hill on the north side of the etreet, and sweptihe enlire block of buildings, ten in namber. The buildings were principalJy occupied as stores and mechanie 8hops - The total amount of property destroyed we have not been able lo ascertain. It will amount to sorne thousands of dollars. The property insured, was principnlly by Kolamazoo and Marshall Mutual Insurance Companics. The heaviest losses are sustained by D. C. Whitwood, Dry Gcods Merchant, and Thomas Ajexander, Grocery and Provisión denler; the fotmer nbout O2,000 and tlie latter Si, 800. One thinf a vory singular in relation to the above fire. A rumor was current in Ann Ar bor on Saturday evening, that this same block had been burnt that evening, and ihat the fire commenced in Vinkle's shop. - Slate Journal.{L?
