Edítors: - The friends of Liberty I n thia county, met yesterday at this place, i Tor the purposu of efföcting a more thorough argar.izalion of the Liberty party, for the en - 3iiing year's efFürt. 13ut few wcre present, , but thoee few wero filled, with that steady , detormination to still, and ever work in this noble cause, which arises from the knowledge that its foundation is laid deep in etemal juslice. The meeting örganized, by callmg James L. Bishop Esq., to the chair and appointmg S. J. M. Hammond Secretary. An cxpiess ion of the views of gentlemen present, huv ing been obtained as to the best method of carrying out theobjectsoF the meeting, it was Resolved, That a committee of vigilnnce, consisting of not more than three. be appointed in each town; whose duty sball be, to procure lectures, cali meetingö, especiall)' to obtain subsenberg to the Signal of Liberty, in their respective towns. Wherenpon the following persons were appointed on euch committees. For Leónidas, Mr. Adams, Park, William WoodrufT, and Isaiah Reed; Flowerjield, John Thurberand Samuel Pearcing; Falius,3oél Redway, Thos. Ward; Lockport, Isaac Anthony and S. J. M. Hammond; JYottaioa, Z. S. Flanders and C. Gurney; Colon, Alvah Hoyt; Bvrr Oak, Peter Whitney, and Chas. R. Monroe; Florence, John Ho ward, A. H. Strong and A. Calhoun; Constantine, T. T. Gurney, E. Bradway and J. Benham; Moitviüe, H. Welï, Sherman, l Iirnm Jacobs, and H. H. Brazier. Authority was given the Co. coromittee to appoint committees in the vacant towrs. It was further Resolved, That the Liberty Party of this County, hold a convention in this place, on the 9th of January next, to elect delegates to attend the state meeting at Jackson, and to do such further business as may come before it. It is hoped, that such speakers will be present at this meeting, as will make it intere&ting, othcrwise than as a business one. Resolved, also, that the editora of the Signal, berequO8ted to publish theso proceedings and a!so to forward to such of the above named committees, as do not take the Signal? the number confaming these proceedings A spirit was manifested in this little gathering, vhich will, we trust, in the next campaign, wipe out from our country the disgroce of a diminished Liberty vote.
