As the Gng-has been removed, for a time at least, the opportunity of prayiug Congreso to libérate every slave in Florida and the Dis trict, 6hould be immediately improved. Numeroua pelitions will sbow that the interest of of the North in nnti slavery bas not abated. We speak of petitions to be sent to the Housr of Represen tat i ves ; as to the Whig Señale, there is and has been a standing there for niany years quite as rigid and effectuaï as that in-the House. If any freema doobts this, he can satisfy himself of tlie fact, by wjiuing to Hon. A. S. Porter or Uon. VV. Woodbridge, our Senators in Congress, both of whom have ever succuinbed to its dictation without resisi anee.
