They gradually enlarged; their business, and inlS38 they hada capitalof $100,000, and gave employment to tsvo hundred' persons. In 1839 they added the busint?s of manufacturing steel pens to that of button making, and' now they have a capital of $775,000, andieniploy daily 275 hands.
