The American Freeman brings intelligenco of a cheering character in reference to the Spring elcctions in this Territory. lnSouthport, the Liberty vote was 65, last fall 60. In Salem, Í learn, the Liberty candidate for Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, was elected by a majority of six over both Whigsand Democrats united. Three other Liberty men vere elccted, and two a tie. In Lisbon, says the Citizen, as in Prairieville and Pewaukie, the proslavery whig and democratie forces united ngainst the Liborty party nominations; and thus suceceded in defeating them by the mere meagre majority of eight or ten. Two Liberty candidatos were elected. Our ' Liberty friends expect to make clean work of it next ycar. They have determined Li pon success in another contest, and they vvill have it! In Racine, the Liberty vote was 33 per cení greater than last fall. Five towns in Mihvaukie county are thus summed up:We think the aggregate Liberty vote in the county is not less than 400. Last fall it was less than 200 - showJHg an iricreasc of over one hundred per cent. in 6 months.
