We place nt tlic head of our editorial columns to-doy ílie cali for q Stnte Convention of the Liberty party, to be held nt Marshall, July 9. As ihe.time is somtMvhat sooncr than was amicipnted, the Liberty Men of the respective Counties will see the necessity of holding their County Conventions without delay. lt will be eeen from the oddress of the Central Committee, that they have recommcHdcd the Pourili of JuJyaslhe best dy for the meeling of County Conventtons.- Tuis coincides with our own viows. We hope thal they will be cal led to meet on that d.iy, or previniis, ns unless they are held, few or no delégate will be present at the Siato Convention from t!ie rlistant counties. As we have beforesnid, much of the efficiency and influence of the State üonveniion wül depend on a general representation of the counlie. Such ('elegates only should be eelected by the County Conventions as will agree to uitend the State meeling; and if there be any pecuniary obstacle in the way, bet itbeobvinled by a contribution of the Liberty men.The ii)(]icatioi)8 now ore that the cause of Liberty will receive a general and much increased 'support at -the fnll eleclion, provided there be the requisite nctivity nnd energy among ts friends. Our cauee in Michigan has oever yet retrograded, but each succeeding year has foimd us steadily on the gain. The present is a favorable time for nction. The excitcment and fury of the Present al contesthas passedaway, and the minds of men areopen to eober and candió appeals. Imme diafely eubscquent to the Presidential election in ia40, our vote augmenled in one jear f rom 323 to 1253- an ncreaee of rburfbld. Let us try tn Ho as much the coming season!
