Tie Chicago Citizen bas published a commenïary on Amos KendalFs definition of Democracy, showing the difi'erence between Practice and Precept. Read it : Tho Dcmocracy ve ndvocote is justice between man and mn;:' and therefore, as Mr. Buchanan eays, the Democracy is the natural ttlly of the South, i. e. elavery. 'Justice between State and State;" ond therefore the Detnocracy allow the slaveholding States to overa we the fiee States, nnd imprison their citizens wiien known to be the advocates of Democratie eqiiality. "Between nation and nation;" end therefore the Democracy is now endeavoring to roh the neighboring nation of Mexico of o large portion of her terrilory. "It is morality," and therefore supporting the aum of all viliainies," slavery, and throwiwg overit the mantle of the government, and thus giving countennce to the injustice, tho cruelty, the licentlotisness, the blood and viotence, and the w hole train of the evils nnd guilt ofslavery. "lt advocate?s the banishment of falschood,' fraud and violence from the affuirs of men;' ond therefore by fraud procures the nomination of a serviíc tooi for its ruler, and ndvocates the annexation f 'J'exa,, by fnlsehood, at the hnznrd of war wiih a foreign territory.
