Minutes of the proceedings of ihe firsi Liberty Associniion of the County of St. Clair, held at Palmer, June 30th 1845. Chose L. P. Wicker, Chairman, and ,J. H. Dtuton, Sccretary, and pioceeded to receive and adopt a Constitution and toappoint ofliccrsof the Association, consisling of President, Vice President, Sec-retary, and Vigilance Commitlee of three. Poceeded to chose T. YVaterbury, President, O. C. Thompson, Vice President, J. H. Dutton, Secretary. E. VV. Corse, John Vanderbilt, Wni. R. Goodwin, were appointed a Vigilance Commitfeé'. J. F. Wiclcer and S. H. Dutton, were appointed delégales to the' State Convention at Marshall, July 9, 1845. The foílowing tfere appointed a Committee to draft a preair.blc to the Constitution and to publish Resolulions: J. H. ETution, L. r. Wicker, A. Hewett. The following were appointed H Cómmittee1 to draft Resolutions for the next meeting: 1 Josenh D. Gilbert, L. I. Wicker, AmosHeweit. T. Waterbury was invited to address the next meeting. The meeting then adjourned to Pine River, to meet on the first Monday in October.
