C. M. Clay
The Cincinnati Herald says: "We learn that Mr. Clay will continue in Lexington, ediling his poper thefe, though it will be printed in Cincinnati. Whetber the jentlemen of Lexington mny deern it neces3ary to take him down ns they did his prees, and box him up for Cincinnati, time will show. We opino that they will be sati6fied with the absence of the Pres., 8nd that a law next winIer wiU bemadeto prohibit the circulniion of mrendiary documento: but no honest jury in Kentncky uill decide that a publication is "incendinry," unless, in nddition to températe arjjunients and nppcals on the question of ölavery, it should be charocterised by vituperation or violence. Mr. Clay, we presume, will give them no such pretext for gagging him. Somo of the Kentucky papers say that nobody objecle to the températe discussion of the question of Blavery. The "True American," rosuscifated, will, we doubt not, try to accommodule them."
