-The LexingtonInquirer, says : "We learn thxt at the time of putting our paper to prcas, ten of ibe com miltee, appointed by the meeting in this city on the 13th, to remove the office of the True American, were on trial before the city court."O"'íhe Oakland Gazette has a couple óf columns in abuse of us, most of which is wide of the mark. The article in the Signal which the present editor considers so abusive, and which he appropriates to himself, was written before bis name appeared as Editor, and refers entirely to the previous course of the Gazette, and consequently does not apply to him at all, unless he chooses to defend all his predecessors have written. Doea he endorse all the articles original and selected, thnt have appeared in that paper in vilification of Mr. Birney, nnd in defence of Native Americanism? OCF The Ssste Gazette repele the intimatton in the Signal thaï the VVhig County Conrention which paesed the antislavery rcsolutiona was a small one. We had that jmpress ton from peveral sourceu, but now make the "amend honorable" by quoting from the Gazette, which saya thst there were bel ween fifiy and oixiy accredited delégate, and adds, - "In oar Whg Counfy Conreniion, our resolution were adopted uilk rounds of applttuse; and, Uu-re were on ly l h ree delega tes oppnged to them, on account of their onusluvery tone, and even these three have given their entire ossfnt. They are nw vnanimoxtsly supported by the undivided Whig par y of' Jackson couuty." We are glad to hear that the Cmvention were so unanimous and sprrited againtt Slavery.
