At a Convent on of the 5th Senatorial district, holden at Schoolcraft, Sept. 25, Horace Stimpson wns called to the chair, and G. H. Brown appointed Secretary. After due organizaron, John P. Marsh, of Kalamazoo, was nommated as a candidate fbr the 5th Senatorial District of Michigan. A series of resolutions were ofierd and main(ained vr'wh spirit aflbrding mnch interest and iiistruction, of which resolutions the following i n sumtnary: Resolvió, Thnt the Liberty party adopts and adheres to the "Deelnration of Independrnce" - that its object is to diesever the National govertiment from all connection with 6lavey - prohibitng the Slo've Trade between the States, and abolishing slavery in the Disirict of Columbh, and in the territorios - that success has so fully attended us, thnt triumoh is cleirly to be the resuit of our eiforts - that we shall maintoin Liberty principies till all that weaskfor is granted, and then perpetuctlly, as the only true principies of governmenl - that no oiher party than the Liberty ■mrty, propose to eílbct the ovenhrow of Slavpry nnd 6ecnrc eiual political privileges to all - that we heartily sympnthize with C. M. Clay in perscution, and fincerHy hope hat he v] purccstfully defend and Brcure ronstitutionnl liberty to American citizens. Resolved, That we fully concur in the nomnations made by the State Convention, and hat we urge upon Librrty votera the imporance and duty of Votino for the Liberly enndidates. O mol en, N. M. Thomas.
