It is hardly possible to refrain from reading suclü matter when placed in print before ono but we cannot reconcile it to the rulo of conduct by which we have ever bsen governed, to be instrumental in extending the pub] city already given to these private letters. Wetherefore refrain, howeverstrongly temptcd, from etracting' from this book any part of its contente."
