State of Michigan, ? County of Washtenaw, 5 SS' At an inquisition taken at the township of Superior, in the county of Washtenaw, on the 16th day ofDccember, in the year 1845, beíorc Samuel G. Sontherland, one of the Coroners of the saic county of Washtenaw. upon the view o the body of Martha Mulholland there {ving dead, by the oaths of lhe jurors whose names are hercunlo subscribed, who being sworn to enquire on befialf of the Stale, when, how, and in what manner, and by what means, the said Martha Mnllholland came to herdoath,upon their oaths do say,that during the latler part of July or in themonthof August last, at the township of Superior in said county T that the said Martha Mulholland came to her dcath fromsorne kind of poisonous substnnce administcrcd to her by some person or persons to the said jnrorsunknown. In testimony whereoftho said Coroner and the jurors of this inquest have heretinto set their hands this the 26th duy of December, 1845. Samuel G. Soltherland, Coroner. Erastus Roof, L. R. Slawson, Thomas M. Ladd, L. W. Cole, John R. Wilcoxson, Alvin Norton, Oliver M. Martin, Jeremioh Peek, Moses M. Boylan, Randal Schuyler, G. W. Brundagc, Wm, A. Hatch. The verdict of the jury, we ore inbrmed, was based cntirely upon the tesimony respecting the symptoms of the lisease the woman died of. The statenent of Van Wart respecting lhe re-apearance of the desccased, which hasmade n good deal of noise in community, is a strange story, and we know not whai to malee of it. Of course it formed no part of the evidènce on whieh tho jury found their verdict. Wa are not permitted' to publish the evidence elici.
