At the Annual Meeting of the State niislavery Society, held at Marshall, ?eb. 4, 184G:on motionofC. H. Stewart he following resolutions were adopted: Resolved, That the enlargement of Liberty views liaving been suggestcd by ;ome friends, it is the opinión of this Society that it is neither consistent with our present objects, nor expedient to add to )ur present political principies. Resolved, That a comniitlee of five be ippointed by nomination to express more fully these our views, and to address the jublic. The following gentlemen wero appointed said Committee: C. II. Stewart, ■ï Hallock, S. B. Treadwell, C. Gurney and N. II. Thomas.Wo think it cannot bc a miss if we respectfully suggcstto the gentlemen comlosing tliis Committcc, that the address iiere proniised is now looked for wilh interest by the friends in all parts of the State ; that inquiries are often made respect ing its anticipatcd appcarance : and as the questions involved are of great imporlnncc, and are in general discussion, we think they will see the propriety of presenting their views upon the subject with as little delay as possible.
