Who would have paid the price? Why the man who should have proposed it would have been put in iron wristbands as a mad man, if he had not been drawn and quarternd by popular indignation. And what more are wc to get for this 500 now sacrificed by the policy oí Mr. Polk, sanclioned by Mr. Winthrop and Governor Bfriggs."(tWe would respectfully say to sub' scribers, and the public generally, that it isour cufitom to publish short obiluary notices when requested to do so.
