-Capt. Ross,near Fort Gibson, Miss.,some yeara ago, trnined his servants f170 in number) for freedom, and finolly by his wi]J, conferred it upon them, with the endowment of alrnost his cutiré large estáte, amouníing to several hundred thousand dollars, to be devoted exclusively to their benefit, on their voluntary establishment in Liberia. Ten ycars have elapsed since thedecease of Capt. Ross ; his will has been sustained by the decis'ion of the Supreme Court of that State- and yet his peoplc remain in Slavcry.
